Audio Books - You Hate 'em or you love 'em?
"Fiction ... Because real life is terrible."
- UnknownHello Book Lovers,
Recently, I've found a new passion of mine. Audio Books. This will probably look very boring to you, but let me finish my thought! I used to hate Audio Books with a burning passion, I couldn't understand how for some people it was a substitute for reading. But because I got sick of always carrying a book around with me (they get broken so easily!), I thought, why not try it again in the bus to school. For anyone that's interested, I listened to Inferno by Dan Brown.
Because my way to school is actually quite long, about 30 minutes one-way, I got through the book fairly quickly. And just like that I discovered that it can be quite useful. I was able to go for a walk, and still keep on reading, I could drink my coffee without having to be careful of the poor paperback... And just like that, I got hooked on all the Audio Books.
Currently, I'm knee-deep in my third Audio Book: Amokspiel, written by the German author Sebastian Fitzek. I might be a bit biased with the Fitzek Audio Books, because one of my favourite voice actors reads his books and it's just. so. nice!
Anyway, the point I want to make is, that Audio Books are not actually terrible, and while they will never replace my trusty paperbacks, they still are so useful to get some "reading" into my stressed student life.
What do you guys think about Audio Books? Do you hate them? Do you love them? Or are you just not interested in them? Leave me a comment.
